Descaling & High-Pressure Water Jetting

Overview

Scale, rust, and mineral deposits on heat exchanger tubes, reactor walls, pipeline interiors, and industrial equipment are a maintenance reality in Indian process plants. Manual chipping is slow and damages surfaces. Chemical cleaning requires downtime, chemical procurement, and disposal. High-pressure water jetting cuts through deposits fast without surface damage and without chemical hazard.

SEW's Vanguard Series triplex plunger pump generates the sustained high-pressure flow required for effective jetting — 100 to 200 bar at flows of 40–200 LPM — to run jetting lances, rotating heads, and tube cleaning tools continuously across a maintenance shift.

How It Works

Water is fed from a supply tank or direct mains connection through a suction strainer into the triplex pump. The pump raises pressure to the set operating level — determined by the jetting nozzle and required impact force. High-pressure water exits through a flexible hose to jetting gun, lance, or automated rotating head. The triplex pump's three-cylinder design delivers near-continuous flow at stable pressure, avoiding the pressure surges that cause operator fatigue and nozzle wear with single- or twin-cylinder pumps — the same smooth-flow design used in high-pressure CIP cleaning for process plant hygiene.

Bare Unit Use

Plant maintenance contractors and in-house engineering teams order the bare pump to mount on their existing jetting trolley or skid. Replaces worn pump units in existing high-pressure jetting sets. Flow: 40–200 LPM, pressure: 100–200 bar. Cast iron or SS wetted parts depending on water quality.

Skid Package Use

SEW supplies complete jetting skids: triplex high-pressure pump, motor, V-belt or direct drive, pressure gauge, relief valve, suction strainer, high-pressure hose with gun and lance, water storage tank with float valve — all on a wheeled MS skid for site mobility. Used in: heat exchanger tube cleaning, pipeline descaling, tank cleaning, and surface preparation in steel, chemical, and power plants across India, with service reach into Coimbatore and Chennai.

Why SEW

100–200 bar sustained pressure — effective scale removal without surface damage. Handles boiler scale, calcium carbonate, rust, and polymer deposits.

Three-cylinder smooth flow — no pressure pulsation. Stable flow reduces operator fatigue and extends hose and nozzle life compared to single-cylinder pumps.

Mobile skid option — complete wheeled jetting set for site maintenance teams. No external pump rental required during planned shutdowns.

Indian manufacturer, Nashik — spare plungers, seals, and valves in stock. Critical for maintenance teams who cannot wait weeks for imported pump parts.
